  • 2015 Canadian University Chess Championships!

    Hi everyone!
This is mostly for university students, but in any case the 2015 Canadian University Chess Championships will be held in Hart House this year, on January 10/11.
We're expecting over 15 teams and a tough battle this time for the top 3 spots,
as McGill, U of T, and a few other universities have an average rating over 2200 :D
Flyer is attached so anyone who's interested will know where to find us.
Tell everyone who might be interested in playing to register a team, we'd really appreciate your help.
As for the Holidays Open, we're working on potential sponsorship and getting a pre-reg list at the moment, will put updates soon.
See you all at upcoming events!

    CUCC photos

    I've posted 18 photos I took during round 4 and 5.

You can see them on the CFC Facebook page:

    https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...=3&uploaded=18

    and in a Google album:

    https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1...44439723633761

They're the same photos, but AFAIK, Google allows higher resolution so you can zoom in on the details.

Congratuations to McGill A, who won for the third time in a row... this time without losing a game.

Big Congrats to McGill for retaining the trophy. 3rd consecutive year they win!

Even more impressive is that McGill's A team did not lose a single game throughout the event on any board. Congrats!

          Re: CUCC photos

I added a short report on the CFC Newsfeed : http://chess.ca/newsfeed/
Michael Kleinman should analyze one of his games and post it there very soon.

In any case, thanks to the organizing team. We had a lot of fun!

Ryerson's newspaper, 'The Eyeopener', reports on the event.

That is one of the most misleading articles I've ever seen.

                Re : Re: CUCC photos

There seems to be some confusion between the Championship section and the U1800 section (which Ryerson won last year).
