Yes. definitely a good tournament to consider. Do you find any tournament in Canada which guarantees $ 10k prize money except CO or maybe Quebec Open. 5 sections up for grab this time.

I think it's important to note that I believe you need a Canadian passport to enter the U.S. from Canada. I think it would be more problematic getting in with my U.K. passport. The problem is that while my U.K. passport has a 10-year validity period, my Canadian passport only has a 5-year one and because of this I leave it expired 5 years until I have to renew both. Right now I'm in that latter 5-year period.

According to the organizer Brian Sayers, GM Sergei Kudrin has committed to attend the tournament. With him on board there is a very good chance that they will also get Lenderman and Kamsky – both of whom said they were planning on it. Not everyday you get a chance to play against GMs !!! Open section will be a great attraction.

Registrations starts to trickle in. 2 months to go.

5 sections for to play in.....even for U-1200, first prize is $ 500 almost 10X your entry fees ( if you register early ). I wish my USCF rating is 1199 ! Unfortunately I have to play in U-1800 section ( 1st prize $ 850 )

Last day before price increase. I think about 15 Canadians are playing spearheaded by our IM Razvan Preotu, the defending champion.
