Re: North American Youth Chess Championship announced

Two enquiries overnight from parents have been forwarded to CFC executive.
Any players wishing to represent Canada at the NAYCC in Mexico, please forward email to CFC office ASAP.
Looks like organizers have been found at the eleventh hour, which happens way too often. :(

I can't overlook the fact that the official representatives get free accommodation, based on quadruple occupancy in a $60 US /night hotel (and no meal)... How generous from the organizers...Last edited by Felix Dumont; Wednesday, 8th April, 2015, 10:57 AM.

I have not seen anything and I am usually on the mailing list for such events or the office usually informs me and Frank Lee as soon as they get something. A quick google search turns up nothing concrete except a listing from the FIDE calendar.Originally posted by Eric Gedajlovic View PostAny news on the Pan Am YCC which is to be held in Bogota I believe?

Re: North American Youth Chess Championship announced

A search for "Torneo Panamericano de Ajedrez de la Juventud" led to some useful info:

 http://www.fideamerica.com/2015/febr...015%20Cali.pdf
 https://www.uschess.org/tournaments/...AMENTCHESS.pdf
 https://www.facebook.com/ajedrezcali2015

It looks like it's no longer set for Bogotá, but Cali. Official players must be registered by May 22, others by June 12.

Article says 6th highest murder rate in the world. Wikipedia says its only 9th. By contrast, Durban is only ranked 38th.

Well, at least accommodations in Cali are based upon triple occupancy! Better than the quad occupancy offered in Mexico City.Last edited by Eric Gedajlovic; Thursday, 9th April, 2015, 10:27 PM.
