    Backgammon anyone?
For those people on ChessTalk who like to win a bet - but not if there is some risk of losing, here's your chance.
This Sunday you can enter a backgammon tournament for free - a straight knockout format likely of as many as 16 players, where the last man standing wins $50 cash money.
Last month there were only 8 entrants and the winner still won $50.
Even if you don't know how to play, you could learn the game in 5 - 10 minutes and still have a good chance - most of the entrants are expected to be beginners, like last time.
And even a beginner has a 20 - 30 % chance to win a short match against a top player.

    Good Luck, C U Sunday?

    Hi Vlad
I'm thinking of playing. Is the equipment provided or do we need to bring boards, dice, cubes etc?

        Late reminder !

Today's the day! FREE BACKGAMMON tournament starts at 6:00pm with a $50 prize to the winner. Best to arrive at 4:30 for a few practice matches, and get the rust out. And since it's free, why not bring a friend - anyone can win a 3 point match as luck will play a large part in the outcome.
For more information and to sign in as a meetup backgammon club member (also free), go to >>>>>>http://www.meetup.com/Toronto-Backga...nts/221496145/

Disappointing turnout for the freeroll tournament - only 7 entries.
I guess we'll have to change the particulars of the next one >>>>

ENTRY FEE: No fee, players will get paid $20 to play!
FIRST PRIZE: $500 to the winner
          WHEN: When pigs fly!

          :(
