Thats because with the new bonus system introduced last year, ratings are starting to become inflated

CFC rating are really really inflated comparatively to the FQE... There is many times like 150-200 points of difference. A have a friend that have 1600 FQE and 2090 CFC :D

In the Maurican Open Bator had less than 2500...

I would think the main reason for this is that people with FQE ratings rarely if ever play in CFC rated tournaments.

Too true, also many Canadians, in the other nine provinces, for years avoided playing in Quebec since the events would be FQE rated but not CFC rated. As result players in Quebec traded rating points amongst themselves while growing stronger, but had few new points brought into the system.

Years ago, at the World Open, Canadians would have roughly 150 points added to their CFC ratings to bring them to a level with those in the States, except in Quebecers, those players had about 200 points added. This was seen as fair by the Americans whose own ratings were inflated at the time. It all came down to who could win what class prize, since many of the American participants were tired of Canadians winning the class prizes.

I retired from active (otb) play about 20 years ago with a rating of FQE 2022, CFC 2137.
