  • Important notice regarding the 2016 Women's Zonal

The Kitchener Chess Festival has withdrawn its bid for the 2016 Women's Zonal. Too many players have cited conflicts, and FIDE has confirmed that staging our Zonal in late September is ok because the Women's World Championship Tournament will most likely take place in early 2017.

Ottawa has presented a bid for late September which has been approved. I invite Halldor Palsson to elaborate.

It might be a good idea to remove the old information from the site here: http://chessfest.ca/canwomen.html
