Re: 2016 Canadian Women’s Chess Championship & Zonal [FIDE Zone 2.2], September 22-26

Were there only 7 players?? A 9 round swiss with seven players doesn't make any sense - perhaps it turned into a simple RR?
(although the schedule of 2 rounds every day -except the first round- seems pretty brutal...)

Found my own answer on the Canadian Chess Newsfeed: http://chess.ca/newsfeed/node/887

7 players ... will be run as 8 player RR (Natalia Khoudgarian got the bye in the first round)
Results and pairing schedule at the link above...

Bouquets to Palsson and Goldenberg for stepping into the breech to run the Canadian women's zonal and national championship. Brickbats to CFC president and executive for doing such a crappy job of promoting and supporting this important event.

This is kind of sad. Semi-cute tactic in Demchenko-Tan, though.

Round 4 is key! Co-leader Svitlana Demchenko will be tested by former Canadian Champ Natalia Khoudgarian and Qiyu Zhou will have her hands full against Agnieszka Matras-Clement.
