This question has been asked and answered before.
The default setting is "players who have played in the last year"
Change the setting to "played since 1996"
and everyone will be included.

OK, so how do I reset my search function to two years at least?

Also, to leave Bareev out seem petty as he played for Canada in the recently concluded Olympiad. Also Anton Kovalyov.

Two years is one of the options.
This (one year) was the default selected at the time the web site was created. Maybe two years would have been better, but it's what we're stuck with now.
If you do use two years, we still don't get Anton.

If you are looking at the Top Players list,
you should see to your right, a box where you can select province, age, gender, time frame, etc.
Select whatever parameters you like, and click "search now"

Most of our top players have CFC ratings that are already significantly higher than their FIDE ratings. For the Olympiad team the differences are rather modest and range from +43 pts (Krnan) to +22 pts (Hansen).
Other notables: Preotu +128, Noritsyn +135, Sambuev +70, Gerzhoy +130.
Bareev, Kovalyov and Hansen are already at the top of the CFC list. Rating the Olympiad CFC would probably push Lesiege and Krnan up a couple of places. The downside would be adding more inflation to the CFC (vs FIDE) comparisons and possibly some unintended policy consequences of selectively rating a foreign event after the fact.

Maybe the request would be satisfied by simply altering all 10 team members last played date to the last date of the Olympic and they would then show up on the default page. Yuanling Yuan is also in the same category. What do you think Paul ?

Deliberately falsifying and importing incorrect information into the database is unlikely to be a good or principled decision.

A simple ruling by the Rating Auditor to this effect (a simple adjustment) would make this no different than resetting a player under 1400 after 5 years of inactivity. This field is not used in any qualification process.

I seem to recall a time when the CFC allowed for the rating of a foreign event provided the player requested it prior to the event.

That is still the case. It is very rarely used.

I think the only issue here is the "official" CFC Rating list, which 99% of the viewers of the web site think is the default list on the website. There is no "official" CFC Rating list, but it might be reasonable that anyone who represented Canada internationally in the past 12 months could be included on the default list (players active in a CFC event in the past 12 months) and the CFC would consider it the "official" list.

For example, if CBC or someone ever contacted the CFC regarding the top 5 players in Canada - what list does Bob use ?
