General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
Wow you must be his servant, the disinterested reader who is a 100-odd posts into the thread and decides to randomly jump in - right. Cutting me up for written vs. spoken. Good on you, its all the same to me. Lies.
Yes, everybody who points out that you're a racist is my "servant." Don't worry, this is all just a vast liberal conspiracy against you. You're totally not a fucking idiot or anything.
everytime it hurts, it hurts just like the first (and then you cry till there's no more tears)
I didn't say something was "slander." I said it was "akin to slander." You do know what the word "akin" means, right? Then again, you've demonstrated in this thread that you can't spell "existence," you don't know the difference between "then" and "than," and you apparently have difficulty reading multi-syllabic words such as "rantings." But go ahead, take more cheap shots at my lingual acumen, you semi-literate sympathizer to racists.
You fucking moron crook, if you knew the correct word you would of said "Akin to LIBEL". About the only Racist around here is you. As for your Pro Bono work thats about all it would be worth. Your arguments are idiotic, what the fuck?? Did God shit in your brain and forget to flush??? Oh....maybe not according to you no God, you were just born a shit head.

At least Lucas post was remotely funny. But still a typical atheist attack. Typical to go after Christians. No mention of the horrors committed by ISIS, or anything like that. Much worse to be a biblical literalist. Much easier to talk about and make fun of, as there are no repercussions. Oh no, I might forgive you to death.
Its a bit spineless and entirely typical of the atheist approach. If you are going to attack or mock, do it across the board. Not doing so clearly shows that you are anti-Christian. Attacking the Jewish faith I know is something you are terrified of. That community has a powerful voice and is not afraid to stand up immediately to anyone as they should be. So Christians would be smart to do the same.
He wasn't going after a Christian. He was going after a racist who happened to be a Christian. The fact that he's a Christian is irrelevant. Why do you think everyone is out to get you?

Personally, I decry no man's religion. I've recently been studying the video of Starboy by the Canadian pop genius The Weeknd in which some Christian symbolism is vividly portrayed. You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34Na4j8AVgA. Would anyone care to share their interpretation of this symbolism that is so cleverly contrasted by the capitalist, hedonistic nature of the lyrics?
For what it's worth, you seem to be a immigrant (2nd, 3rd, etc. generation - probably born in Canada) who is happy to come to/or be part of a Judeo-Christian society and then take a dump on it, while enjoying the verbal freedom your home country would most likely never allow. Whether you are a good or bad person, I have no idea. But would it kill you to be thankful for the society you are in, which has accepted you so readily? People like Bonham get so angry at Trump - well that's why Trump has succeeded so very much, people are tired of those who abuse their freedoms. The very liberal-minded people continue to be abusive, but it is their "right". Taking issue with the bible or even biblical literalism makes you contradict yourself - look where you have chosen to live? Guess where the basis of the law comes from?
To clarify my opinion of you, this earlier post of yours filled me with chills! Your subsequent posts have done nothing to alleviate my opinion. How old are you really?

The sad part is that the Pro Bono work is funded by taxpayers at least to the extent that the donors are allowed a tax deduction. With Lying Ben Daswani's great arguments I'm sure we are safe from the rapists and murderers that he will be trying to spring from prison.
