Toronto Organizers please note our 2017-1018 Tournament Dates!
https://chess-math.org/pdf/toronto/C...02017-2018.pdf
Our Tournament dates are posted a year in advance, where we also book
and pay substantial fees for the venues. Toronto organizers are requested
to kindly avoid conflicts with our dates. Whilst almost all do so, the Guelph
Pro Am and OYCC tend to clash with our Grand Prix dates - this is rather
embarrassing for us, as we not only host their event announcements on
our Board, but receive the odd requests from parents to change our dates!
This has dwindled in the past years to just 1-2 parental murmurs, however it
makes it really awkward for stronger players competing for prize monies and
accumulating cumulative points over two Grand Prix's to have to miss the final
Grand Prix, due to the OYCC organizers scheduling their event at the last
minute on our Grand Prix date! As this seems to annoyingly happen on the
1st Sunday in May, we have deliberately scheduled our final Grand Prix in
2018 to Sunday May 13th, leaving the 1st weekend open for the OYCC!
Thanks,
Francis
