General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
"We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office." - Aesop
"Only the dead have seen the end of war." - Plato
"If once a man indulges himself in murder, very soon he comes to think little of robbing; and from robbing he comes next to drinking and Sabbath-breaking, and from that to incivility and procrastination." - Thomas De Quincey
Belzberg doesn't comment on things like this. I wonder why. Dude's too busy sticking his head in the sand and shouting, "ALL LIVES MATTER!"
The headline is comically misleading but that does not surprise as the Independent is famous for it's Anti Israel bias as are so many of the the sheepish supporters of the Democratic party. The article itself refers to recent acts of terrorism in the vicinity of the El Asque Mosque against Israeli policemen that necessitated the installation of metal detectors. In anticipation of the protests and more acts of terror young Muslim men are temporarily banned from the Mosque but are not banned from Friday evening prayers at other locations.
In 1947 Jerusalem was going to be an international land shared by all that Israel accepted. In 1948 this international land was immediately seized and occupied by Jordan for the ensuing 19 years. During that time Jews were banned from the holiest sites including the Western Wall that the Jordanians desecrated by using it as urinals. In 1967 the correct characterization of what took place in Jerusalem was a liberation so that all religions could worship there. The young Israeli soldiers who fought in 1967 wanted to blow up the El Asque Mosque that happens to have been built on top of the Jewish peoples most holy site in the 6th century ad. The then minister of defense Moshe Dayan ordered them not to do this in the spirit of the 1948 agreement.
By the way, on a different subject when and where do you want to do this IQ test challenge? You stated in another thread that I am a Trump supporter and therefore a racist.Your excuse that you used before was that you reserved this challenge for only Vlad or Mavros on the basis that you believed they were racists but saw no evidence of me being a racist. By your own admission that excuse no longer holds. Here is your opportunity to get me off the chesstalk boards! If I win I will donate the money to the anti defamation league.

Wow, they're not banned from praying everywhere! Yay for the Israeli police! Only banning people based on their religious affiliation from some sites. Why can't those pesky Muslims just accept the second-class citizen scraps the Israeli authorities hand them, right?
Only an extremist would justify blatant religious discrimination. How low are you willing to sink?
everytime it hurts, it hurts just like the first (and then you cry till there's no more tears)

Yes the Islamic terrorists were killing the police who were guarding the place,no surprise that they are banned from there temporarily. But in your world its ok that no Jews were allowed to their holy sites for decades as mentioned above under Jordanian rule in fact their sites were desecrated..not because of acts of murder but truly based on religious affiliation. You completely distort the facts in an attempt to make Israel look like they are the aggressors. How low are you willing to sink you creep?

Who is "they"? All Muslim men under 50 were banned. Some Muslims men under 50 committed acts of violence so it's "no surprise" that all Muslim men under 50 were banned? That's really the line you're going to hold?

No, that's not okay either. Do I really need to tell you that "two wrongs don't make a right"? You didn't learn that you that one when you were five?
You completely distort the facts in an attempt to make Israel look like they are the aggressors. How low are you willing to sink you creep?
Just so you know, it's possible that a country, an organization, or a person can be the aggressor in some instances and the victim in others. Your apparent inability to comprehend this is a symptom and an indication of your extremism.
I knew you'd be down to justify religious discrimination. Your first foray into the original Trump thread, after all, was a rant about Islam and Sharia law that was apropros of nothing.

Ben Daswani is a self professed troll. I have talked to people who know him in real life. He is also a radical, left winger Democrat who have it in the back of their thoughts that the Jewish vote is safe even after anti-Semitic revelations in the Podesta and other emails. They have to pander to the sharia law faction and attack people such as yourself who are inconvenient for them.
Put him in your ignore list. You won't miss anything interesting.

You try to make it look like it is a permanent ban. It is not. It is about security and not religious discrimination. Unfortunately Israel has no way of telling who are the murderers and who are not in the crowd of protestors that stated their intentions of going there. But of course if it was left up to you you would just let Israeli police and others in the area be subjected to terror attacks.
I am not surprised that you chose not to name a date and place for your purported IQ challenge. Your words and challenges are about as worthless as your sick accusations that you post here.
