    Re: The NEW Thread

One my long time crusades is Stop War. I've done a ton of stuff (including a very successful guerilla marketing campaign) clearly stating ... Stop War.

So, after a couple of years of on-again off-again prop creation and staging ... yesterday, Stop War went into production! It's my first short film, I'm freaked out about the whole thing.

Here's a very early, and super raw, study shot:

        I share your view Neil.

In my own way, one of my life projects is to promote more critical thinking by us all on life/world issues.

Right now the main focus has been moving my friends, and friends on Fb (On Jan. 1 this year, I started, and facilitate, a discussion club on my personal account on "everything", like this thread I started here - and thanks to Larry's tolerance), to think about the problem of a nuclear war between USA & North Korea, and how it might be averted, and by whom.

These two belligerents must be separated, and the situation become such that they see less benefit to them of going to war, than the detriment involved. I have difficulty, at the moment, believing they can just be "talked into seeing reason".

          Thanks, Bob A.

I don't know if mutual respect is even possible in their current conditions. As long as N.Korea is viewed as something much less than civilized, and as long as N.Korea's sees enemies most everywhere. From the lack of mutual trust comes the lack of mutual respect.

Add to that, both entities need a 'target' to maintain their people's support which then makes it even more difficult for either side to trust and respect each other.

That's one heck of a vicious cycle ... as all tension fed cycles are. But I believe the tension can be dialed back by both entities, and in the long run the raw power of that tension must be reconfigured. Or else the same vicious cycle will begin anew.

Rest of this week with Stop War we're working on a simple layering of visual textures. Much of my visual inspiration coming from so many sources ...Frank Miller, Quentin Tarantino, Ash Thorp, to name but three.

As much as I am excited about the visuals, I'm equally excited about the sound track. It is annoying and hypnotic at the same time. It also evokes childhood innocence, curiosity and wonder. That's a dangerous combo!
