  • Congratulations to Danny Goldenberg!

On August 09, FIDE published the list of titles approved at the 2nd quarter Presidential Board meeting by written resolution.

One of the most hard-working, intelligent, conscientious and humble people in Canadian chess, Danny Goldenberg had his International Arbiter title confirmed. He is successfully directing the 2017 Canadian Junior in this new capacity.

Congratulations Danny on reaching the highest rung of the arbiter hierarchy! Wishing you many achievements in the years ahead!

Totally agree. Very humble and approachable. Heard great comments from the parents and players. Tournament well directed at the ongoing Canadian Junior and all rounds started on time so far with one more round to go at 4PM today for the Open section.

A round of applause to Danny !

When I dropped by the tournament I was impressed by the team work of Danny and Mikhail, always visible and accessible. They were friendly and well dressed. There weren't noisy kids running up and down. Outside, some kids did climb the trees. In the skittles room there was a Double Chess (Bug house) game without clocks and a couple working on mate with a knight and bee. Nice wooden chess sets and the junior trophy with many historical names.
