  • Oh! Oh! Back Again!

For those who are able or know how to use the site USENET, I am told there is a story on "My 61 Memorable Games" and Ed Trice there from the World Open. It has nothing to do with who published the book, merely a story about it and Ed Trice.

    It is supposedly at....... rec.games.chess.misc

The original posting in the thread was:

"Reports are that someone was trying to sell five copies of My
61Memorable Games from a borrowed corner of a skittles table outside
of the book sellers area at the World Open in Philly. Goichberg told
the person they were not authorized to sell the book. The person in
question demanded to see a contract saying he couldn't. At that point
Mr. Goichberg informed the person that not only did he not have to
show him a contract, he could have him ejected and barred from
    returning.
The individual then put the books away and didn't return on Sunday to
    the event. "

It seems that the asking price was $200! That's P.T. Barnum territory.

I don't believe that Fischer had anything to do with this book, but I would buy a copy for a much lesser amount out of curiosity.
