I personally do not like sections. The Canadian Open to me has the best format where everyone plays everyone.

Quite frankly I don't like class prizes either. Id like to see support for an event where they just handed out lets say 10 or 15 prizes from 1 to 15 and that's it.

The best players would get the money and sand bagging would be eliminated.

Bonjour bonjour! Chessca 2009 has come and gone, but the fond memories remain. Below are some delightful pictures for all to savour. Enjoy!

Elora Village Tour (Set 1 of 3)

Shortly after lunch, we were met by our guides Gary and Al who portrayed two chararacters from Elora's past. Our guides sang some songs and recited some poems as they spoke of the nature of the village shortly after the arrival of the railways. We were led along some pathways of the Elora Gorge and through some village streets. Several old buildings and unusual features of Elora were also pointed out.

Father and son, Rick and Reuben McCleary listening intently to the tales of Elora's distant past, shortly before the walking tour began.

Mrs. Krishnakanth Rapaka, Josh Perl and Kevaugh Ellis

Journey into the Elora Gorge began here. The spectacular Elora Gorge is at the western edge of the village, adjacent to the Elora Gorge Conservation Area. At the eastern end of the village is the Elora Quarry Conservation Area, a scenic former limestone quarry, which is now a popular swimming area.

Mikhail Egorov, Rick McCleary and GM Bator Sambuev
Location: Lover's Leap. In the village of Elora is a legendary lookout into the spectacular Elora Gorge called "Lover's Leap", from which a young aboriginal princess, hearing of her lover's death, threw herself off the cliff.
