I wish Robert Hess would play more. His games are entertaining more often almost then any other player. I ve been privileged to see his commentary at the Kingside Diner in St Louis but he is an even better player than commentator. Today the sequence of pins from move 27 is a spectacular way to simplify the game to a basic winning endgame.

You might suppose that Anand overlooked his back rank but the position was bad way before that. Maybe even before exchange of queens. I think somehow (unless White had kingside chances) he was strategically busted. (look at the bad queenside pawns and white lacks a good pawn lever)

Theres a must see game Amin-Sadhwani. Black grabs the pawn e2 with his bishop. Now its not so much that White has the E file. Its also that whites pieces come in so fast. I love graphic lessons like this game.
