General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
Excellent debate with Wallace and Biden tag-teaming Trump. Biden threw the left under the bus. Denied the socialist manifesto that he signed. Denied the Green New Deal in one part of the debate but affirmed it in another. Confirmed that he would be packing the court and getting rid of the filibuster.
Surprised that Ilhan Omar didn't come up with her vote harvesting scheme.
Regardless of which party they support, I wonder how any intelligent American can comsider last night's jackassery to he a good thing for their country. Just one more reason for America to be ridiculed around the world. They should be holding their so-called debates at Chesstalk.

6 (Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin).
Hey Bob, your numbers are wrong, but you got this part correct.
These are the 6 battleground states were Biden leads but with Republicans legislatures that Trump could steal. Add Florida, and you get the 7.
There are 22 Red States with total of 170 electoral college votes.
Add: Florida 29, Georgia 16, easy steals for Trump with help of locals.
Total now 215 votes.
Trump just needs to steal another 55 votes of the total 90 votes from the 6 battleground states you list.
Reds that can be turned blue (Either Biden wins them, or, if not, hoping that, if Trump does win them again, their state legislatures will overturn the popular vote win by Trump, and appoint electors who will vote Biden): 6 (Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin).
Questions:
1. Of the 6 red states you hope to win for their electoral college vote, in how many are Biden currently leading, and if so, is it by more than 3 %?
2. In how many of them do the Democrats control the State (Though won by Trump in 2016)?
Just curious - currently how many states are "blue" and how many are "red" in your analysis?
And there are only 7 States that are generally considered up for grabs? All the other 44 States are expected to stay with their current parties?
This is a pretty dug in dual country.
Further question if you know - of the X committed "blue" states, how many would be considered "rural" states? I ask because in Canada, the two major parties are sort of dug in via the "rural" vs "urban" seats, in my current analysis (Correct me if you disagree on this analysis of the Canadian partisan divide).
Thanks.....anyone else.....chime in on the general theories!

Hi Bob,
Blue States 13 (plus DC)
Red States 22
Battleground states 15
Total 50 states plus DC
So, my analysis started out looking closely at the 15 Battleground states. Biden is currently leading in all of them except Georgia.
Now I do agree with our friend that Florida is not a battleground state, since Trump will steal it anyway.
But then my focus shifted to which states can Trump steal by getting the state legislatures to overturn the popular vote and appoint electors.
There are 7 battleground states where Biden leads in the polls but have Republican legislators. So that's how I got to 7, including Florida.

I wouldn't consider Florida a battleground state. The Cuban mafia/sugar industry gets whatever it wants, and it seems that the Republican administrators do, too. Despite voters wishes, 10% of citizens can't vote due to their past criminal records and if the vote get close, votes in populous black areas won't be counted, like in 2000 when Bush stole the election from Gore. Interesting, working on Bush's legal team in that dispute were Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett. Two judges Trump is counting on to win any court disputes in this election.
Since 2000 the Republicans have grown smarter in removing Black Americans from the voters list and putting up hurdles in poor districts (as well as their facebook campaigns of misinformation). So I really doubt Biden will win any of them. Too bad, even in Michigan where Republican administrators chose to poison the whole Flint community.
They did remove the dead ones, which is no small source of annoyance for democrats as everyone who died and voted reliably, voted democrat.

So, this puts a whole new complexion on the Presidential race.
My analysis shows Biden should collect 233 electoral college votes from blue states.
So he needs another 37 votes to win.
There are 7 battleground states where he currently leads.
Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin,
total of 119 votes. Win them all and it is a landslide Biden win with 352 votes.
However, these 7 states have Republican legislatures.
They could simply reject the election results and pick Trump.
Result: Trump gets crushed in the actual election results, but is President for 4 more years anyway.
And this is what passes as Democracy in the USA.

They appear to already be giving cash for votes. Personally, I think it should be legal. But at the moment it's a pretty serious crime.
The video was on Hannity last night which means that the Republicans have all seen it. Expect shoes to drop and it to be a topic in tonight's debate along with Hunter Biden.
The Dems will be fighting for the return of the kleptocracy.
