General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
Biden will win between 279 and 412 electoral college votes
Bob like in 2016 a new phenomena has happened where pollsters encounter "shy trump voters" and will tell pollsters the opposite of their intention. The only group that conducts polls taking this into account is The Trafalgar Pollsters that ask a series of short questions like "Who do you expect your neighbor to vote for?".
This polling company was the only pollster in 2016 that correctly called all of the battle ground states and correctly called the 2018 midterms as well. Here is the link to very interesting data points that are significantly different than polling companies that continue to use older methodologies. Trump not looking good in PA but strong in other states according to their methodology.
Biden is going to lose all four of those states. A good straw poll will be the viewership ratings for the Trump Town hall on NBC which is scheduled at the same time as the Biden Town Hall on ABC.
"I personally believe most people are smarter than Q-anon conspiracy theory believers"
Dilip,
This group of Dr's gave an interesting presentation in Washington DC today. Almost all of them have personally saved thousands of lives with early intervention of COVID19 pt's. They did not subscribe to upside down medicine of not treating early. Please listen carefully to this video and then tell me if you think when politicians are saying "we follow the science" it is actually the opposite.
If I am not mistaken you are a physician so I would be interested in hearing your comments about this video.

Impartial moderators attempting to cover up their bias. See: Scully, Steve
Big tech companies attempting blatant censorship. See: Facebook, Twitter
Unhinged activists destroying neighbourhoods. See: Portland, Minneapolis, Kenosha, etc.
Meanwhile people should fear Dictator Trump because he is attempting to appoint a Supreme Court justice.
All of this does not make it 'rigged'....if people are stupid enough to be swayed by falsehoods.... they deserve what they voted for....

In banana republic dictatorships, the dictator stacks the court, then stuffs the ballot box in his favour illegally.
When the opposition cries foul and goes to court for justice and truth.........what do you think happens when the judges have been appointed by the dictator???
I have no idea if this story is true or not. In a larger sense, it doesn't really matter. To me the much larger story is that Big Tech has decided to censor it.
They should be allowed to do this, but in return they should lose their status as platforms, now be considered online publishers, and be open to lawsuits from anyone who has ever been defamed on their sites.
Ya, it's INSANE how they can cry wolf but at the same time censure what gets published on their platforms. To suppress that story is simply brutal treatment.
White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, was locked out of her own Twitter account for trying to share the Biden story!
Add to that ...
CNN, ripped NBC for 'rewarding' Trump with a platform!!!
Barely There Biden "denials" you all have eagerly slurped ... like kitten milk ... LOL!!!
Joe Biden - "If the prosecutor is not fired, you're not getting the money" ... “Well, son of a bitch. He got fired.”
Joe Biden - "No one's found anything wrong with Hunter's dealings with Ukraine except they say it sets a bad image."
Joe Biden - “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”
Joe Biden - "You know there’s not one single bit of evidence, not one little tiny bit, to say anything done was wrong, you know that."
Oops ... LOOL :))))
"Well, son of a bitch". Joe Biden got caught.
