The first ever FIDE Regulations of Online Chess include two distinct sections:
"Part III a: Regulations for Online Competitions with Supervision"
    and
"Part III b: Regulations for Hybrid Chess Competitions".

This document is a product of a huge joint effort by select representatives from the major FIDE Commissions under the umbrella of the FIDE Task Force on Online Chess, which took place from April through November. The document was approved in principle by the Management Board and the FIDE Council and will be adopted soon. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some FIDE zones have already requested to hold their 2021 zonal tournaments in a hybrid format.
