Joe Smolij's name keeps coming up and well he should. He is a classic Canadian icon no matter what you feel about him and Ive heard many different versions. I played him, I exchanged witticisms with him, and watched him many more times. I never seen a video of him but maybe we should do a documentary. I think Erik Malmsten (and I seriously mean this with respect) could do the starring role of Joe. I think with good makeup, lomger hair and muddying the beard, and lots of work on the accent ( and of course the trademark touque/cap) it would be a hit and maybe we could have Lawrence Day as the opponent. That would make a priceless documentary, an all time keeper.
