The older I get the more interesting I find endgames. Giri - MVL looked superficially to be headed to a bishops of opposite colour ending ( so assumption draw) but Giri found the entertaining Be8 and Bxf7 and all of a sudden with the sacrificed bishop more passed pawns then he needed and a nice win.
Fabulous Fabi - Shak was humorous (or I found it so) in the bizarre pawn play that just ended up winning the endgame for Shak.
Grischuk's Nd4 was too relaxed and then Bc5 was all Levon needed to find his way to the king (on which he had his eye all the time)
This tournament might end up being the Shaks.
