  • Deutschland Grand Prix

An interesting tournament with 5 of Germany's top players with 5 well known veterans. Not that there isnt enough to watch with the World Cup. The fans will certainly have enough tournament chess to watch over the next month.

The road was not easy for Eljanov. In rd 7 Kollars defeated Eljanov. Then in rd 8 Kasimdzhanov gave Kollars a nice prolonged lesson in knight and bishop vs rook and pawn. In round 9 Eljanov in turn beat Kasimdzanov to win the tournament.
