Hi Eric, you sent me a private message with a picture taken on Gould St. in 1982. That is not me. I was not even playing chess in 1982. However, I know the person in the picture. His name is John (not sure of last name) and was a regular on Gould and at the Crackpark for many years. A very funny character. His entire body was covered from the neck down with tatoo's and we used to cll him Tatoo Man. He told me once that he used to be a doorman at the Royal York Hotel. He could aso read and write Sanskrit. Have not seen him since the pandemic started.

So it was John, not you, who worked at the Royal York. But did you teach chess in local school?

Yes, I taught chess at Winchester School in Cabbagetown for 1 year in the mid 90's. It was something Roger Langen set up with the Board of Ed. Very enjoyable.
