In the last round around 12:25, my computer says that Noritsyn has a tangible advantage, that Latorre against Shawn has a small to big advantage and that Bator has a big advantage,
The Shawn position is very complex with all the pieces still in play. Bator and Noritsyn will have play against big pawn weaknesses.

          They are simple :)

At 1 h 10 minutes, my computer says that Norytsin has close to a winning position, Bator also. Shawn is entangled in a very complex battle with young Latorre (14 years old). All the piece on the boeard except for one pawn in that one.

Vincent has just made a poor move Bxe4 and Shawn now has a big edge admittedly in a very complex position. All 3 favorites might win giving a three way tiebreak. Who is favorite on tie breaks ?

Thanks Hugh and Egidijus. At 20 to2 Bator is +7 Pawn up and weak opponent king, Nikoay is +4 pawn up and weak structure for opponent, Shawn is -0.8 he's going to be piece up but the position is a mess. Possible 3 way tie is favored at this point or 2 way at least.

Bator won, Nikolai still has a big edge, Shawn now has to find the quite difficult e3 dxe3 Bxe5 ! and f3 ! not easy.

Shawn also won as his opponent hung a piece. (although he played very well before that)

My understanding (after checking chess results) is that Nikolay Noritsyn is the 2023 champion. Second is Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux, and third is Btor Sambuev.

Well deserved for Nikolay and Svetlana! The tiebreaks show how hard it is to win such events, tiniest details like opponent perf matters...Hope excelsior can hold more prestigious events of the sort in the future, strong tradition starting.
