My fellow serious chess collector and friend, WK of Toronto, has pointed out the following interesting websites.
This one has a "trailer" of the new movie regarding his life. It is rather a long trailer. At one point, the Ks and Qs are set up wrong on the board! He saw it published at the newsgroup rec.chess.games.misc.

Here is the Press release:
World Wide Premiere of "Bobbie Fischer Live" Scheduled for November
10, 2009
Los Angeles, CA -- Controversial Producer Director Damian Chapa will
host the world Premiere of ‘Bobby Fischer Live' about the life story
of Bobby Fischer.
Bobby Fischer is considered to be the greatest chess player of all
time who defeated the Russian Champion Boris Spassky during the cold
war. The Chess match was historical in bringing relations between the
USA and Russia to a more calm and cordial state as well as elevating
chess to a mainstream sport.
Where: FAIRFAX THEATER 7907 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 9004
When: November 10, 2009
RED CARPET : 6:30 pm
PREMIERE: 7:30 pm
RSVP REQUIRED
After his win Bobby Fischer became a recluse, resurfacing only for a
rematch against Spassky in Yugoslavia. Ignoring sanctions in place by
the United States he played a 3 million dollar rematch against
Spassky, causing the United States to issue a warrant for Fischer's
arrest.
Fischer was taken into custody in Japan as a result. After Fischer was
released he went into exile in Iceland, the only country who would
give him a passport.
Because of Fischer ‘s loss of his US citizenship he could not return
to his home in Brooklyn NY. Fischer spent the rest of his life in
seclusion traveling abroad, and developed a deep seated hatred against
the USA and its policies. He also began to spiral down into
psychological torment and as a result developed a strange rant of
terrorist like hatred towards America even on the day of 911. Fischer
also developed hatred towards Israel even becoming anti semitic even
though he himself was Jewish.
Chapa directed and starred in the feature film that spans the entire
life of one of the most controversial historic figures in The United
States who is considered by all to be the greatest chess player ever.
Worldwide rights available for the feature film through Amadeus

Another movie is supposedly being made about the book, "Bobby Fischer Goes to War" but this one was posted almost two years ago, so one has to wonder...

I am not trying to ignite a maelstrom of discussion about Fischer's strengths and weaknesses, merely providing some information you may not have seen yet!
