Magnus won and won the match. Gukesh drew and had won his first game so moves on.
Dominguez won a nice game and moves on.

Tan Zhongyi made great use of her passed D pawn and then finished with a nice breakthrough attack on the king.

Rd 5 Game 1 Ivanchuk had interesting play with the knights but couldnt seem to put it together and Magnus took over. Gukesh got his C pawn running and it ended up winning a piece.
Dominguez has been having a great run. He played very dynamically in game one and won.

Yeah, I wish I could post more, but just the way the time windows work, it's almost midnight here lol

And when I'm tired, it feels easier to talk than type lol - so maybe let's talk by phone upon my return?!

Tie breaks tomorrow - some very exciting matchups. Personally I always like seeing Nakamura put on a show, and then there are Gukesh and Magnus amongst others.

Yes, there seemed to be more than usual R+P endgames tonight. It was superb how after almost all these grinding endgames, the players would semi-analyze their game, so passionate for chess!!
