    Annex Chess Club (ACC) is honored to partner with Ajax Chess Club to organize the FIDE Candidates Rapid side event on Tuesday April 16th at SVBF Community Hall in Etobicoke.

    Note: Tuesday April 16th is a break day and all the candidates, their seconds, visiting GMs and former WC Vishy Anand will receive an invitation as FIDE guests, and may or may not participate.

    When: Tuesday 16 April 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30pm

    Format: 6-round Swiss tournament, one section

    Time Control: 10 minutes + 5 second increment

    Where: SVBF Community Hall, 80 Brydon Drive, Etobicoke, M9W 4N6

    Entry Fee: $75. Free entry for GMs/WGMs/IMs/WIMs

    Rating: CFC and FIDE rated

    Prize fund: $3000, as follows:
    1st - $1000; 2nd - $750; 3rd - $500;Top U2200 - $350; Top U1800 - $250; Top woman - $200

    Number of seats: LIMITED - 120 players plus FIDE guests

    FIDE-titled players currently registered:

    GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (AZE)
    GM Ivan Cheparinov (BUL)
    GM Aryan Tari (NOR)
    GM Razvan Preotu (CAN)

    Many more to be expected :)

            I like that Day came out of retirement for a short time. Hopefully, we can see more of him soon.
            I like the textbook smothered mate by Razvan in round 1.
