Its all about conditions. You could find an interview at the recent olympiad where Nakamura states his points, there are many. Nakamura will continue to play the candiadates and other select tournaments when he can fit them into his schedule.
He was playing in London, England, which overlapped with the first round. He has already won the US Championship 5 times. Been there, done that

Lots of kibitzing of the game Irina Krush vs Carissa Yip on chessgames.com (and probably on other sites). It was a crazy game.

Rd 5 Awonder Liang comes up with a big win as Black against Mishra. Beautiful exploitation of the weakened kingside squares.

An interesting exchange sacrifice by Caruana as Black netted him the full point after inaccurate play by White. It also puts Caruana in the drivers seat leading the field with 4 out of 5.

Rd 5 Tatev Abrahamyan played clean tactics to tear apart Anna Zatonskih's kingside and ended it with an unanswerable queen sacrifice. She now can claim at least a tie for second.

Rd 5 Ray Robson used his whole board pressure to win several pawns and just when it seemed endgame technique was needed he broke through against the weakened king position, His opponent Lenier Dominguez, who rarely loses, has now lost two games and we are not quite halfway!

Carissa Yip just won, now 5-0. I was watching most of the game, an interesting endgame. On move 64, the silicon monster announced mate in 42! Fortunately, Black found a faster way to end the game.

Rd 5 Carissa Yip has won another! She is clearly the most superior tactician of the field. Now that she has deposed of her two strongest opponents she could quite possibly go 11-0! 5-0! Wow! Incredible start!
