Rd 10 I haven't commented on one of Arthur Pijpers games before but he just played a great game against Bulmaga. 18.h6 is the correct pawn break in this position against the castled king and 26.Bxc5 pseudo-sacrifice leads to beautiful play. To finish the last move of the game e5 has nice touches which encouraged his opponent to resign. A memorable game.

Rd 10 Gukesh is the first to win in the Masters section this round. 30...Nxg3 was a bolt from the blue! I've got the feeling he wants to win this tournament and clear first after ten rounds is a good sign.Comment

Rd 10 Lots of winning endgames this round but I think Abdusattarov wants to win this in the middlegame.

Nguyen vs Vaishali. Lovely to watch the duelling knights but the white knights ended up keying and the black knights repeating. Vaishali is definitely off form and Nguyen took advantage of that to win.Comment
