Thanks, Hans. We had to cap entries at 180 due to space and equipment. Next tournament, I am booking the T.A.R.D.I.S lol

We reconfigured the room to accommodate 200 players. All spaces have been offered to those on the wait list and there will be no further spots available.

Congrats. What an amazing turnout! Brilliant Adding ten boards to reach 200 players! The second highest number this century!
Last year had a record 248 players in Toronto, but in 2022 Toronto only had 168, in 2018 164, in 2016 147, and in 2010 119. In 2019 Oakville had 185 players. Ottawa 2023 had 146. Brantford has been highly successful before with 109 in 2015 and 131 in 2004.

As well, most Toronto tournaments get their numbers with a very large bottom section but this year Brantford has 54 players in the top section, Brantford 2015 had 41 players, while Toronto 2024 only had 34, Ottawa 2023 32.

Searching for some of the older events:
Toronto 1995 211 players, 40 in the top section, $9,210 prize fund. In 1997 the Victoria Day weekend became the Toronto International Open, 7 rounds, 298 players, 45 in top section, $25,000 prize fund.

Hamilton 1980 had 159, 50 in top section. Back in the day of two sections Ottawa 1978 had 140, 70 in top section, and St. Catharines 1976 had 114, 74 in top section.
