After round 7 Nikolay Noritsyn looks to be in the drivers seat with two rounds left to go.

In round seven in the Women's Svitlana Demchenko had a key win against Ashley Qian and now shares first place with Morgen Mills. The latter two are now playing in round 8.

In the Shawn RL vs Mark Plotkin game, Mark has played the bold move 15...Bxg4. I wonder what is going to happen now?

Rd 8 On move 16 Keleberda played a pawn sacrifice to wreck Mendes kingside. However it looks like Mendes has turned it around by opening the G file completely. Interesting game.

Noritsyn has played a great strategic game doubling on the E file and taking the play. His opponent has helped him by giving him key outpost squares for his knights. Interested to see how he converts.

Shawn tripling on the F-file rules the board.

It looks like Bator is in trouble. Razvan has played a cagey game and his pieces are all more active and poised to exploit weaknesses.
