Rd 1. Zhu Jiner vs Abdusattarov looked equal until move 22. Than on move 23 Zhu played Nd4. Tactics alert especially against Abdusattarov. Not complex but as a result she dropped two pawns. Game over. Abdusattarov wins.

Andy Woodward played brilliantly in a bishop of opposite colour endgame sacrificing his bishop for three connected passed pawns! and an unstoppable peasant tour de force!

          Carlsen Erigaisi draw.

Van Foreest Erodgmus draw. Kudos to Erdogmus.

Rd 2 But the excitement lis in the Abdusattarov - Woodward encounter. Abdusattarov keeps pressing but Woodward matches him with good defence and counterattack. You have to admire him. What a plucky player. Its move 57 and the computer likes Abdusattarov's attacking chances at + 4 but Woodward keeps finding ways to resist.

Rd 2. The other two games are in the endgame. Erdogmus vs Erigaisi there are queens still on so lots of counterattacking chances for both sides but computer evals are around equal in a complex position. Van Foreest is a pawn up in a pure rook and pawn endgame and looks like he is about to break thru although Zhu has the white king cut off on the eighth rank.

                            Both games end in draws.
