FM Jaferian's performance is almost 2500 after six rounds. Keep fighting Koosha! We wish you all the best.

One of those with 5 is FM Calix Marchand. He is a brilliant work in progress. Amongst his score is losses to two veteran GM's and 5 other wins against tough opponents. Thats right, a perfect score against all but the GM's!

While on the topic of older players in the Championship section of the 2026 Canadian Open in Ottawa, let us not forget about IM David H. Cummings (born 1961), who is unbeaten through seven rounds!!! He has represented both Wales and Canada at the Olympiad, in the 1990s.

IM Cummings is a complete class act and maintains a youthful vigour to his play (I don't know how he does it!)

Last round: GM Stremavicius and GM Shawn R-L tie for first. GM Stremavicius tiebreak is better. Is that the decider or is there a playoff?
