Re: Quebec Junior - Kovalyov wins

As far as I know since I have US citizenship there is no quick transfer fee.
Doesn't FIDE recognize a player as representing one (and only one) federation - regardless of how many citizenships he has?

e.g. Eric Hansen is listed under "Canada" on the FIDE list. Wouldn't he still have to go through the FIDE red tape in order to be listed under "United States" - even with dual (or US only) citizenship?

I have this funny feeling that when you are not titled and you have stayed in a new federation for more than 36 months, that is, 3 years, then the transfer in Federation should be free .................correct?

I am also monitoring this "change in Federation" issue because i am still listed unter the Netherlands . i want to transfer to Canada. The thing is, i did not ask the Dutch officials to register me under The Ne. Now, why should i give $ 200 euros away?

A couple of years ago, I discovered that FIDE had me registered in the USA. I sent email to FIDE, and within a couple of days it was changed to Canada.
