    GM Mark Bluvshtein Lecture:
    • Mark will share his recent Olympiad experience
    • Come watch how Mark bamboozled former World Champion GM Veselin Topalov with his pet h3 anti-KID system
    • Mark will also analyze his game from the last round against GM Nikola Djukic where Mark sacrificed his Queen, then an exchange, then a knight to ultimately reach a won endgame
    • Mark will discuss his upcoming career including his participation in "The Wimbledon" of chess at the Corus tournament in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands in January of 2011

      This new Monday night chessclub is at the same location as the Thanksgiving and Labour Day Opens, 918 Bathurst, a block north of the Bathurst Subway Station.

          Details of evening:

          1) 6:30 - Doors open

          2) 7:00 - Canadian Olympiad Team arrives for reception, which will include cake and coffee etc.

          3) 7:30 - Mark Bluvshtein gives 1 hour lecture

          4) 8:30 to 10:30 - mingling and casual chess

          5) Entry fee - $20 per person, free to members of Annex Chess Club (ACC) ... details below...

          6) Annual Membership fee to ACC is $190 which includes:
          * 44 nights of chess
          * 6 X 5 round Swiss tournaments, CFC rated
          * free entry for all special lectures and demos
          * $10 discount to all open week-end tournaments held
          at the club (e.g. May 24, Labour Day, Thanksgiving)

          7) You may join the club when you arrive this Monday and
          immediately save the $20 for the lecture!!

                  The Annex Chess Club hopes to attract CFC members who want to play one game a week slow chess on Monday nights.

                  ACC Fall Swiss — Monday October 25
                  Our first regular tournament of the year starts on Monday October 25. It’s a five-round Swiss, with one round each Monday night: SD/90; half-point byes available in rounds 1-4.

                  ACC, 918 Bathurst, north of the Bloor subway station.
