    Happy Birthday Hikaru Nakamura!

Hikaru Nakamura celebrated his birthday today by beating GM Kramnik as black! What a present!

Indeed! Possibly Kramnik will allow me to defeat him on my birthday. :)

No big deal! I won this game for my hero in Toronto, Yan Teplitsky!

Very impressive win... I was surprised that Kramnik didn't resign earlier, as was most of the kibitzers on the Chessbomb site.

I really don't understand why he sacced a piece, it looked like more of a topalov home prep gone wrong than a kramnik game with white. I think hes nearly unbeatable with white

Shipov commented that Kramnik tried to play like Tal or Kasparov :) Instead a solid pawn e3 would give a better position.

But Hikaru - Yan's not a GM (although he should be) and he's your hero?? - Kasparov would consider him a tourist.

Yan and Kramnik were in the same class in Dvoretsky's chess school. Without going into the details, suffice it to say that Kramnik was a bully and Yan did not appreciate his behaviour.

By defeating Kramnik, Hikaru won some retribution for Yan. Congratulations and happy birthday!
