    Jan 14-17, 15-17 or 16-17: 43rd annual LIBERTY BELL OPEN. 7 rounds, Sheraton City Center Hotel, Philadelphia. $20,000 projected prizes based on 320 paid entries, otherwise raised or lowered in proportion, $14,000 minimum guaranteed.     I believe these are all Continental Chess Association events (CCA - Bill Goichberg, a first class chess organizer, has headed this organization for many decades).

    I notice that for the New York State Scholastics they no longer allow Canadians to take part...but players from all over the U.S. are still welcome. CMA has sent youngsters to this event in the past.

    I think I will give Bill a call.

      Yes - those are all CCA tournaments.
