Have I missed it or has no one yet declared to run for any office at the CFC for the coming year?

    Only 2 Candidates Have Spoken

    Hi Ken:

Posted on April 8 on the CFC " News " Forum:

The CFC Regular Chess Post – April 8/11

Election of 2011-12 CFC Executive – July 12 @ AGM – so far 2 people have declared early concerning their candidacy, so governors/members can question them and consider their candidacy:

    1. Current CFC President Bob Gillanders has said he will not run again for President, but will stand as “ Past President “, the 7th executive position.
    2. Current CFC Treasurer, PEI Governor, Fred McKim, has said he will be running again.

Public Relations Coordinator ( non-executive officer position )

As far as I am aware, the non-executive officer positions are redone at the AGM ( currently Women's Coordinator, Rating Auditor, Public Relations Coordinator; there are 2 vacant positions - Tournament Coordinator and Director of Fundraising ).

I volunteered for the Public Relations Coordinator job permanently in Nov. 2010, after a few months as " acting " PRC ( from August ). I have enjoyed the position so far, and so I will be putting my name forward at the July AGM for re-appointment for a further year ( whether or not I am re-elected to one of the 8 GTCL CFC Governor positions at the GTCL AGM on April 30 - I have given the GTCL Executive notice I will be running again for one of the 8 positions ).
