Roman, 2295, 7.5- 5.5, scored a plus score against higher rated opponents, average 2372, gaining rating points but needed to play a slightly higher average of 2393 for an IM norm.

        Re: World Junior

A fast-improving field of juniors is not the place to win norms. Probably most of the players here will soon be IMs and GMs. Roman, no doubt will soon get his first norm elsewhere.:)

          Re: World Junior

Congratulations to Roman for a good tournament at the World Junior.
Roman started his first CFC rated game at Oriole in 2003. He then came regularly for 5 years. Roman was a recipient of Oriole sponsorship, at least a couple times.
Roman outplayed all the players at Oriole in 2008 and as a result, he was not coming to Oriole any more.
Not long after Roman left Oriole, the Oriole regular CFC tournaments discontinued. :(
Hey, Roman, we can’t go without you! :D
We are so glad that we contributed a bit to a successful Canadian Junior Chess player. ;)
Roman, Wish you all the best in your future chess career! :)
