  • Non-CFC Rated FIDE tournament?222 fjgm5

    Hi guys,

Is it possible to have a tournament FIDE rated, but NOT CFC rated?

Sorry about the gibberish at the end of the thread title.

My little 2 year old saw his chance to get on my computer when I went to answer the phone.

No, they have to be CFC rated as well.

I don't think so. There might be other ways, such as passing through a FIDE affiliated association (like the AIDEF), but the CFC would surely not like that (and with good reason!) :) . I'm pretty sure it is the same thing for tournaments organized in the US or in any other country with a national rating.

          OK, Thanks Vlad.

Some players are really into protecting their CFC rating, so afraid to play unrated juniors in FIDE events.

FIDE deals with this by not counting games between established players and non-rated ones. It's counted for the unrated, but not the established player.
