It was nice to hear mention of Todd's music. I have the CD "Hot Toddy" that Todd's parents sent to me shortly after he passed away. I will dust it off and give it another listen soon. I seem to remember it being heavily influenced by Bach.

This game would be great for a Canadian collection of chess tactics. Queen sacs are often a big surprise.

I've been looking lately at Queen Sacrifices at www.chessgames.com. There are over 100 games. Most are for mate in 2 or 3, some king walks. The exchange for 2 rooks may be common, there are some Q for R and minor, and even a couple of famous Q for 2 minors.

I can't find one fascinating game I vaguely recall, Q for a centre pawn mass of 4 or 5 pawns, played circa early 1980s by Browne or Shamkovich.

I recall that at Guelph a visiting strong US player (maybe Thomas Magar 2004?) was shocked by an opening Q-sac that was newly discovered by a computer.

Very instructive game.

Todd's style of play belongs to the highest level. Todd elevated chess to an art level.

His game is definitely a master piece.....a work of art.
