I'm never sure whether to list non-playing titles.

          Hi Marcus:

I was initially skeptical whether our strong Toronto players would play " for something other than $$$ ". I think the list has shaped up quite well. Glad to know top players also will play for the love of the game, and where the competition will be challenging. Good luck to all. I'll try to drop in some Monday when I'm in town.

Also, to be 2012 Toronto Champion. That's never going to go away. And to play in a FIDE-rated event...

            Hope you can visit!

Melissa Greeff was WGM at the age of 15? It's a good accomplishment (although her rating is still quite low for it!?). Is she moving in Canada?

Yes, I think she has moved. She's not just visiting.

She's joined an Annex Chess Club tournament, too - http://annexchessclub.com/2012/03/ac...-2012-results/

Can you provide - or send me - the games in PGN format? I would like to add them to CanBase.

GTCL Tournament Co-ordinator is running the Toronto Closed - as a player!

Vladimir Birarov may not have been a favourite going in, but with a Round-3 win over Samsonkin, he's now in the lead with 3.0/3.

                            Check games and cross-table.
