    Did Sapozhnikov withdraw simply due to a bad score? Or were there other more serious reasons?

    In a round-robin tournament such as this, all players should put up a deposit (maybe they did?) to ensure they play all their games.

        In Toronto Closed Championship, Birarov takes a bye and Samsonkin takes the lead, with 4.5/6. Birarov is a point behind (but with a game in hand) at 3.5/5. Song, undefeated, has 3.5/6.

        In Reserves, Zehn Nasir and Stephan Tonakanian are tied for the lead at 4.0/6, going into the last round.
