  • CFC Rating Malfunction?

My rating was just updated, and it went from 1834, to 1902, or so I thought. For some reason, it said I was going into OYCC with 1862. I don't know where that came from. Also, one of my opponents was rated 1704, not provisional, going into the tournament, and it says his rating was 1860 going into it. My performance rating is 1743, yet I drew and beat players around my rating, and I still went up 40 points! Wait, it gets even weirder! An unrated guy going into the tournament had an 1897 performance rating, and somehow got a new rating of 5186? I don't know about you guys, but someone needs to announce the new world champion.

As I guess I'd say they added the new bonus points in but did not make sure they were not applied to provisionally rated players or unrateds.

That would seem like a likely cause, hopefully it won't be too much trouble to fix. It wasn't just the U16 section either, checkout the U14 section..

The last place finisher had a performance of 794, and finished with 2153, too funny!

aw, I see it isn't just my tournament.
We had two new unrated players in our Hamilton tournament who were given provisional ratings in the stratosphere! >4000! wow.

Gerry has been notified. I guess thats a do over. :o

cfc ratings are ridiculously inflated - ratings in the range from 3000-7500 are quite possible.

Thanks for pointing this out. We'll have to re-examine the software change we just made to implement the new bonus point system.

The rating software can now rate future tournaments too.
