        That wasn't very helpful.

              The fees don't make much sense. A person in the over 61 year range has to live 10 years to break even on his membership at the current rate. On the other end of the range, if you want to argue someone should live to 75 or 80, how can the price for "under 31 be justified?

              Personally, I'm betting the CFC won't even be around the next time I want to play in an over the board rated event. :)

                At your age, it's not clear you'll be around the next time the CFC has a rated event.

                    That reminds me of the question: In what battle did Napoleon die?

                    Answer: His last one.

                      And since Napoleon died in exile on St. Helena...

                        That from the guy who retired from playing Pacman on his Atari in sympathy with my retiring from international chess.

                          Napoleon is remembered for his defeat in Russia. He took a worse beating there than France took on the Plains of Abraham. Maybe that part I shouldn't mention, but that too is history.

                            I'd suggest spelling Nunavut correctly...

                              * Life memberships:

                              under 31 years of age = $720

                              31 to 40 years of age = $630

                              41 to 50 years of age - $540

                              51 to 60 years of age = $450

                              61 years of age or over = $360

                              CFC Life members may still be required to pay provincial dues.
