As can be seen, I have been arguing for years that the Women's World Chess Championship cycle is discriminatory. Go back into the Scarborough Community Chess News & Views chess newsletter I edited.....a number of diatribes against the women's cycle.

Simply put, there is no reason for the women's and open world chess championship cycles to be different at all.

There is a Women's Grand Prix. There is a Women's "World Cup". Women players' ratings are in the open system. A Candidates' Tournament for women, to determine a World Championship Match Challenger can be created......no logical reason not to.

      BUT....it is argued......there is/will be no funding.....

Was that not the argument about.........women's tennis........women's hockey......women's everything?

If the women, such as current Women's World Champion, Hou Yifan, and she says there are many more women (And this man) on the same page as her, want to gamble on the funding/women's chess income factor, why should the male chess establishment deny them both this right to try, and to deny them equality?

There is definitely something wrong with this picture!
