I was wondering what future tournaments GM Eric Hansen will be playing in.

I'd like to follow his tournaments/games. The sky is the limit for this kid!

    Hello Andy,

I leave for Amsterdam on the 13th and will be living with a strong Dutch GM for a week. I may play a game in the Dutch League Div #1 but its yet to be confirmed.

Groningen I hope to win this event and thus qualify for Tata Steel C.

And then I will participate in a strong Swiss open against top GM's.

If I dont qualify for Wijk An Zee then expect to see me play in Gibraltar.

      A nice schedule.
      Good luck with Groningen.

An often guest at Canadian Open ch. E.Rozentalis has already qualified to Wijk C.

Website currently in development. Expect to see it up and running within a month. The easiest way to follow my results for now is to check up on my twitter which i'll be updating more frequently.

Eric, are there games from your Panama Open performance? I've been unable to find them. Maybe next week's TWIC?

Your Olympiad IPR was 2473, but error bars almost 200 Elo wide so take with a grain of salt---numbers I currently use as "echoes" came out in the 2500s. I'm revising my model to be more accurate on individual player-performances. On whole tournaments where you have many more moves and a mix of players it's pretty good---e.g. the 2012 Aeroflot Open had a median rating of 2620, and 2620 is exactly what my program says for all 370 games. I have been flat-out busy with other things, but hope to post my Olympiad and other Canadian figures here over the holidays.

Hopefully next TWIC, according to the organizers.

I just watched the finish as well! Great game, Black seems solid in that endgame despite the exchange deficit. I would prefer Black even though objectively White may be preferred (by a computer).

Another Eric Hansen comeback with 3.5/4 in the final 4 rounds for what looks like shared 2nd place.

Just scanning the game quickly, I don't know why White didn't trade Qs on move 37. Seems very strange to me to keep them on the board. Surely blockading the Ps on the light squares is easier that way. Plus White's K can come to the aid of the rest of the army.

BTW, isn't Eric's best possible result equal 3rd? Andriasian and Ernst have 7 as of this moment according to the site.
