  • Funniest Movie of All Time

I need assistance to resolve a heated debate over what is the funniest movie of all time. The candidates are:
    1) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin
    2) The Party starring Peter Sellers
    What do you think?

From those 2 I will take "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and this is the funniest part:

'Bed time story' with Marlon Brando. Also Brando's favourite movie he was in!

          Blazing Saddles
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Anything with Bill Murray and/or Eddie Murphy

But of the two choices given, The Party is much funnier, I thought (though I preferred Sellers in Dr. Strangelove)

For what it is worth, I have many friends in the Pakistan and Indian communities and they think The Party is brilliantly funny.

For myself, I would have a hard time choosing among Woody Allen’s Take the Money and Run, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein and Billy Wilder’s Some Like It Hot.

I liked Major League. Also Airplane.

For TV the Dean Martin Celebrity roasts were my favourites.

Many (all?) of the roasts, at least parts of them, are on YouTube. Don Rickles and Foster Brooks in particular are comic gold, imo.

The correct answer is Front Page with Walter Mathew and Jack Lemon.

                    :)

From those two choices, I would pick the first one - BOTH lead actors were brilliant! :)

Here are some other personal favorites :

                      Napolean Dynamite

Here are two more to add to the list of possibles:

                        The Producers (1968), Mel Brooks producer;
                        Caddy Shack.
