The Hamilton City Chess Club presents a 5 round Swiss on March 23 & 24

Please Confirm Your Registration March 23 at 9:00 am
(Players arriving after 9:20 may NOT be paired for round 1)
Game Times
Saturday - 9:30 am, 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm
Sunday - 11:00 am and 4:00 pm

Sections and Prizes
Top Guns, U2000 and U1600
Top Guns and U2000 will play for cash prizes U1600 will play for trophies
To play in the top guns section you must be 1900 or higher
To play in the U2000 section you must be 1500 or higher
Please Note: Unrated players are not eligible for the U2000 prize
(Unrated players may play in the Top Guns or U1600 section)

Fees:
Top Guns and U2000 $45.00 U1600 $15.00 cash only
Email us by Friday March 22 to receive $5.00 discount
Titled Players who commit to playing by March 1st will receive a major discount

CFC membership required

Time Control: All Games 80 minutes with a 30 second Increment

Rules And Equipment:
Bring Chess sets, Boards & Digital Clocks
Please turn off your cell phones
TD rulings based on the CFC Handbook are final

Everyone, as you send us your pre registration emails please note the cut off for the top two sections. (1500 or higher for U2000 and 1900 or higher for Top Guns).

If you have a choice of playing in two sections please let us know which one you want to play in.

Hello everybody,

I have been informed that hotel rooms are going fast in the Hamilton area. You may have to check Burlington and Stoney Creek.

Bottom line...book your room asap.

If you know any new players who wish to try out a chess tournament tell them they can play in Hamilton for 30 dollars. And that INCLUDES the 1 day CFC membership.

The Details

Hamilton has made it as easy as possible for new players who wish to play rated chess.

Basically players who've never played in a tournament before have two options. They can get a 1 tournament CFC membership or they can get a 1 year CFC membership.

Since the CFC 1 tournament membership costs 20 dollars and our U1600 section is 10 dollars (if you remember to email me) the total cost using this method is 30 dollars.

If you get the 1 year CFC membership (which includes a monthly online magazine) it costs 48 dollars plus our entry fee 10 dollars for a total of 58 dollars.

Players who wish to play more CFC rated games after this event will most definitely be better off taking the second option.

Anyways, guys, please remember to tell your friends who've you've been trying to play in a chess tournament...This is the one to come to for that first time experience! (And you can get a ride in their car for the cash section!)
