  • Reykjavik Open

After an overnight flight and a long journey, I arrived in Iceland this morning at 7:00 AM local time. The first round of the 2013 Reykjavik Open gets underway tomorrow, February 19th, at 4:30 PM local time (11:30 AM EST). The event is 10 rounds and ends on February 27th.

It's very easy to follow the results here or on the main webpage of the tournament here.

Looking forward to some intense games! Even at my rating of 2472 I am seeded 39th

Good Luck Aman and enjoy the tournament ambience and what you can see of Rejkjavik and Iceland. (if you get invited to a house party dont turn it down:) I wish I was there, maybe next year.

With a rating of 2472 you are not even the highest rated FM in the tournament! (FM Wei Yi CHN 2501)

Aman's round 2 draw is not available. Aman - if you read this, can you post it?

Round 3 games have not been posted yet - Aman drew and Yelizaveta lost.

I heard Aman is having some difficulties with transportation from his hotel. He reportedly has had little time for preparation due to the various mobs of Icelandic girls attacking him on his way. We designed a new route for him to take tomorrow and avoid the crowds.

                        Expecting better results now

There's nothing like an Icelandic girl to distract a guy. They can do it all the time. :)

I used to spend a lot of time around Gimili, Manitoba. The Republic of New Iceland. I think that's what it was first called.

He is still in good spirits despite the female harassment. Also, paparazzi managed to obtain a photo of the Canadian star as he was returning. Fortunately, 10 round tournaments can accommodate slower starts
